They also benefit from the existence of the Kaaba, right? Didn't a man used to meet a man in the pre-Islamic era, having killed his father, and meet him in the Kaaba without touching him? Even though he would be looking for him all year long, as soon as he found him in the Kaaba, it was as if nothing had happened at all. So people were safe; the one who killed was safe, the one who said a word and would be punished for it, no one blamed anyone, no one spoke to anyone, and there was nothing at all. Nothing. And among its benefits for people were also the sacrifices in which blood is shed. The world that trades in sacrifices and so on, that was even in the pre-Islamic era. These people used to sell in an imaginary way, and the people who sell clothes, meaning even non-Muslims, even the disbelievers, the Kaaba was there. So what about the Kaaba for you? Allah made the Kaaba, the Sacred House, a standing for the people. Al-Tahir ibn Ashur, may Allah have mercy on him, said, 'And it is only said of a thing that it stood if it stood on its legs, and it expresses activity.' And that was also a secret that one wonders about. Why is it that when one goes there, one becomes active, and when one returns, one finds oneself less than that? How did he bear that hardship? And you find many people there like that. You find an elderly man sitting, circumambulating the Kaaba in the heat of noon, and he goes out to walk to Mina and goes to Muzdalifah. How does he bear this? How did that man endure it? Be sure that in his country, he does not endure that. But what happened? When he arrived at the Kaaba, he stood up, active. So a person remains thinking about Hajj, O brothers, and what comes after it. Examine the heart. What is after Hajj? What is after the great seasons is a state of looking at the heart. What is after the great worship is a state of looking at the heart. Has your heart become straight or not? Has the heart been healed after Hajj? Hajj, we said, is an absorption, a standing for the people. Therefore, you find that the Prophet, peace be upon him, used to send the sacrificial animals while he was in his house and not in a state of Ihram. It was said to Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, 'Did the Messenger of Allah send the sacrificial animals and remain in a state of Ihram?' She said, 'No, he only used to garland the sacrificial animals.'
