And Adam, peace be upon him, loved him, and he used to sit with him often, teaching him the commandments and instructing him in the religion, until he became a righteous man. Some people said that he became a prophet among the prophets, and the knowledge of that is with Allah, the Almighty. Adam, peace be upon him, used to advise Seth, 'Do not tell your brother Cain what I have told you.' He said, 'He has already killed his brother, and I fear he will kill you. I fear he will envy you for the knowledge, the commandments, and the honor that Allah, the Almighty, has bestowed upon you.' Adam was afraid for his son. 'Do not tell your brother until what happens, happens.' People continued to live for years, and the descendants of Adam began to grow little by little, until Adam, peace be upon him, reached the age of one thousand minus sixty years. Someone came to him; it was the Angel of Death. Adam looked at him and said, 'Who are you?' He said, 'The Angel of Death. I have come to take your soul.' He said, 'Why?' He said, 'Your time has ended.' He said, 'There is still more time in my life. My life has not yet been completed.' He said, 'Yes, you gave sixty years of your life to your son David.' He said, 'I did not.' Adam said, 'I did not.' Adam forgot, so his descendants forgot. Adam denied, so his descendants denied. Adam disobeyed, so his descendants disobeyed, so that Allah, the Almighty, could show us the qualities of Adam. No matter how much perfection he reached, he still had human qualities. He said, 'No, my life is up to a thousand.' So Allah, the Almighty, revealed to the Angel of Death that I will let him live for a thousand years, and David, peace be upon him, will also remain as a blessing and honor from Allah for another 100 years. So the Angel of Death left him and came to him after sixty years, until Eve said, 'Get out and do not come to us.' She did not want the Angel of Death to take his soul. Adam said to her, 'Let him, let him be. Leave me, for my time has come.' And the Angel of Death took the soul of whom? The soul of Adam, peace be upon him, the first created being.
