طيب هذا الأمر سخرت الأمة له تقريبا 100 عام ولو نظرتم أنتم في الإنتاج الفكري للأمة قبل 100 سنة ونظرتم إلى الأسئلة التي طرحت في ذلك الوقت ستجدون أنها نفس الأسئلة التي تطرح الآن كنت أقرأ رسائل سعيد حليم باشا آخر رئيس وزراء في الدولة العثمانية لما تقرأ الكتاب ترى أن الأسئلة التي يطرحها والقضايا التي يناقشها هي نفس قضايانا كأن الأمة الإسلامية لم تتقدم خطوة واحدة تستغرب لماذا لماذا بعد 100 سنة نطرح نفس الأسئلة ما تقدمنا ولو خطوة واحدة لأننا نفكر في نفس القالب يا جماعة لا تنسحبوا وراء الغرب يا جماعة الغرب جيد بس خذوا شيء واتركوا شيء نفس المنطق يعاد ويكرر في كل زمان

English translation

Okay, the Ummah has dedicated almost 100 years to this matter. If you look at the intellectual production of the Ummah 100 years ago and look at the questions that were raised at that time, you will find that they are the same questions that are being raised now. I was reading the letters of Said Halim Pasha, the last Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire. When you read the book, you see that the questions he raises and the issues he discusses are the same as our issues, as if the Islamic Ummah has not advanced a single step. You wonder why? Why, after 100 years, are we asking the same questions? We haven't advanced even a single step because we are thinking in the same mold. Oh people, do not withdraw behind the West. Oh people, the West is good, but take something and leave something. The same logic is repeated and reiterated in every era.
