English translation

And sometimes, I will give you an example. Allah Almighty repeats many stories, for example. You cannot understand the purpose of the repetition if you do not understand the context in which the story came. For example, Allah Almighty repeated the story of Iblis. Ah, true. But this repetition is not for the sake of similarity, but every time He repeats, there is another angle related to the subject of the Surah. There is a different awareness. Of course, there is an angle He wants to draw your attention to. This angle is related to the subject of the Surah. Peace be upon you. I mean, look, for example, when He came with the story of Iblis in Al-Baqarah, He did not expand on the devil, only one verse. But He expanded on the angels. The dialogue of the angels did not repeat. True. But Iblis repeated. Correct? Why? Because Surah Al-Baqarah talks about obligation and talks about the most important issue in obligation, which is submission to Allah Almighty. Correct? From the beginning, even the idea of submission is a basic idea in Surah Al-Baqarah. When He said, 'Guidance for the righteous,' the first attribute, what is it? 'Those who believe in the unseen.' Those who believe in the unseen. We do not stop at this verse. Its meaning seems strange. It should have been, or it is expected to be said, 'Those who believe in Allah.' You know? Those who believe in the unseen, by the way, did not repeat. I mean, there is no other verse that talks about 'believing in the unseen' or 'faith in the unseen' as a characteristic of the believer. Here only, because the unseen is what is not known and the unknown. Correct? 'That he may know that I did not betray him in the unseen,' meaning from where he does not know. Correct? So you now, sometimes Allah Almighty gives you an obligation, and you do not know what the purpose is, but you must submit. And therefore, Surah Al-Baqarah treats this issue, the issue of submission. In the example of the mosquito, 'As for those who believed, they know that it is the truth from their Lord.' Enough. Who gave the example of the mosquito? Allah Almighty. So the subject is finished. 'And as for those who disbelieved, they say, 'What did Allah intend by this?'' No, we were not convinced. We need to be convinced. So here is the problem of submission. He comes to the subject of creation, 'Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority.' The angels submitted. Iblis did not submit. So he just discussed this issue from the angle of submission. When he went in Surah Sad, no, he expanded with the arguments of the devil. Why? Because Surah Sad is exposed to the arguments of the disbelievers. This is its basic subject. Therefore, in the beginning, 'But those who disbelieve are in pride and opposition.' Obstinacy. They have arguments, huh? But all of them are false arguments. So here, in this context, it is appropriate to expand with the devil. It did not suit to expand in with the devil in Surah Al-Baqarah. Therefore, when you walk with Surah Al-Baqarah, after that, the Children of Israel came in the issue of submission. And the naming in Al-Baqarah, because it is also related to submission. He did not submit them from the beginning when He ordered them to slaughter a cow. Then all the matters you find them return to the idea of submission. When Allah said, 'Talut said, 'Indeed, Allah will test you with a river. So whoever drinks from it is not of me, and whoever does not taste it is indeed of me,' you know? 'Except one who takes from it in the hollow of his hand.' Why? What is the wisdom? Submission. You learn to submit. I mean, He could have allowed you two, three, four scoops, but here He wants to raise you on submission to the obligation, which is the subject of Surah Al-Baqarah, which is the subject of Surah Al-Baqarah. Therefore, when you understand this subject, you know why He dealt with the story of Iblis at this level, and why He dealt with the story of the Children of Israel in this way, and why He mentioned the cow. You understand these data.
