Then he performed the pilgrimage to the Kaaba and returned once again Did all the people of Thamud died? No! There is a person who did not perish, and he was one of the people of disbelief and polytheism. How? This man is nicknamed Abu Rugal When he learned that there was punishment coming down, he fled to Kaaba seeking refuge from the punishment So, the lightning and the curse did not descend upon him, and he remained in the Kaaba for a period of time Until he said that he would return since nothing had happened to him As soon as he left the Kaaba, a lightning bolt struck him and he perished Out of respect for the House of Allah Almighty and as a warning and lesson for this man and others like him Abu Rugal perished as soon as he left, and it is said that his grave was stoned The Prophet, peace be upon him, passed by the place where the people of Thamud were cursed He passed by with his companions, and they saw this spot on the earth He showed them the mountain where the son of the she-camel sought refuge And he showed them the place from which the she-camel used to drink The companions drew water from this place and kneaded their dough and cooked their pots When the Prophet, peace be upon him, learned about this, he said, 'Throw away those pots and do not eat anything from them.' "As for the dough, give it to your animals, and do not eat anything from it because this land is cursed." He ordered the companions not to pass by it, and if they did pass by it, they should do so while expressing their fear of Allah Almighty A cursed land it is and shall remain, inhabited by the most wretched of people, those who killed the camel of Allah After Allah destroyed Thamud and later the people of Aad, an era came to an end
