English translation

If you pass by this man, and they call him the madman, if you pass by him, put your fingers in your ears. Why? So that you do not hear anything from him, and perhaps he will bewitch you, and perhaps you will be affected by his madness. And they used to accuse Noah, peace be upon him, of all kinds of accusations, and he was steadfast and patient. He said, 'My Lord, I have called my people by night. I have called my people by night and by day,' meaning all day long, sometimes at night and sometimes during the day. He said, 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, but my call has only increased them in flight,' meaning the more I called them, the more they fled. 'And indeed, every time I called them that You might forgive them,' he is complaining between himself and his Lord, pouring out his concern to whom? To Allah, the Almighty. He complains of his distress and concern to whom? To his Creator, may His majesty be glorified. 'And indeed, every time I called them that You might forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with great arrogance.' He changed the style. 'Then I called them publicly. Then I announced to them and secretly spoke to them in private.' Noah, peace be upon him, used all the methods, and he was saying to them, 'And said, Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.' I mean, look at the style, so that he would not come to them and say, 'Your Lord will punish you and will do such and such,' although it is true. In the end, if you do not believe, the punishment will come, but he was opening the door of repentance for them and calling them to seek forgiveness and informing them that the Lord is the Forgiver. He did not leave any method, not by speaking aloud, not by declaring, not in secret, not at night, not during the day, in every place, in the streets, in the clubs, in the gatherings, he enters upon them in every place, calling them to Allah, not for a year, not for two years, not for tens of years, the most frequent prophet.
