كان الصحابة رضوان الله عليهم كما حكى عنهم ابن عمر ماذا قال؟ قال كان الرجل من خيار أصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لا يقيم سوى سورة من القرآن وكانوا يرونه ثقيلا وكانوا يرونه ثقيلا لماذا الصحابي لا يقيم سوى سورة من القرآن ونحن نكرره كرا ونحن نتسارع ونتسابق على ختمه نحاول أن ننتهي من الآيات بأسرع وقت اختلاف التصورات حينما اختلفت تصوراتنا اختلفت ممارساتنا حينما ترى المسلم اليوم يسارع في الختم وترى الصحابي يتأنى ويصبر ويعيش عمرا مع السورة هذه الممارسات ليست عبثية وعشوائية إنما تحكي اختلاف تصوراتنا تجاه القرآن هم يرونه كتابا يخرجهم من الظلمات إلى النور يرونه كتابا يقوم حياتهم يرونه كتابا بوصلة لحياتهم أين يذهبون وأين يأتون ونحن نراه مجرد كتاب للحفظ والتلاوة
The Companions, may God be pleased with them, as Ibn Umar narrated about them, what did he say? He said: A man from the best of the Companions of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, would not establish more than one surah of the Quran, and they considered it heavy. And they considered it heavy. Why does the Companion not establish more than one surah of the Quran while we repeat it over and over, and we rush and race to finish it? We try to finish the verses as quickly as possible. It is a difference in perceptions. When our perceptions differed, our practices differed. When you see a Muslim today rushing to finish, and you see the Companion taking his time, being patient, and living a lifetime with the surah, these practices are not absurd or random; rather, they tell of the difference in our perceptions towards the Quran. They see it as a book that brings them out of darkness into light. They see it as a book that corrects their lives. They see it as a book that is a compass for their lives, where they go and where they come from, while we see it as just a book for memorization and recitation.
